These terms govern your use of the Petunia Chatterton Editions website and your purchase of personalised books and related products from us. By placing an order you accept these terms in their current form.
1. Who we are
Petunia Chatterton Editions is an online publisher of personalised children's books, operating in France. Our contact email is contact@petuniachatterton.com.
2. Products
Each book is printed to order and personalised with the details you enter on the editor (child's first name, pronouns, dedication, etc.). Final printed pages may differ very slightly from the on-screen preview because of paper colour and ink. Cover artwork, page layout, and story content are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without our permission.
3. Orders and payment
Orders are placed through our website. Payment is taken in full at the time of order via our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are never stored on our servers. An order confirmation email is sent automatically once payment is received.
4. Pricing
Prices are shown in euros and include applicable French VAT. Shipping costs are added at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but the price applicable to your order is the one shown at the moment of purchase.
5. Delivery
5.1 Delivery areas. We currently deliver to France and the United Kingdom. Further destinations may be added later. 5.2 Printing and dispatch. As each book is printed on demand and personalised, it is produced and shipped by our print partner, Gelato. Order processing, printing and dispatch take place Monday to Saturday. 5.3 Delivery times. The times below already include order processing, printing and transit, and run from confirmation of the order: France: 5 to 6 business days (Economy delivery). United Kingdom: 4 to 5 business days (Economy) or 4 business days (Express). These times are given for guidance only and are not guaranteed. 5.4 Delivery charges. Charges depend on the destination and the option chosen, and are shown before payment is confirmed: from €4.99 for France and from €4.21 for the United Kingdom (displayed in your local currency at checkout). 5.5 Order tracking. A tracking number is emailed to you as soon as your order is dispatched. 5.6 Receiving your parcel. The risk of loss or damage passes to you at the moment you — or a third party designated by you — take physical possession of the parcel. Please check the parcel's condition on delivery; in case of any issue, see section 6. 5.7 Delivery address. It is your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address. In the event of an incorrect address, an unclaimed parcel or repeated failed deliveries, any re-shipping costs may remain payable by you. 5.8 Delays and force majeure. We cannot be held liable for delays attributable to the carrier or to an event of force majeure. During peak periods (notably the end-of-year holidays), please order in advance; order-by dates are indicated on the site where applicable. 5.9 Customs. Where your order is printed locally (generally the case for the United Kingdom), no customs formalities are required. In any other configuration, any import duties or taxes would remain payable by the recipient.
6. Returns, cancellation and refunds
6.1 Personalised products. In accordance with applicable consumer law (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code; for UK customers, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 similarly exclude bespoke or personalised goods), personalised books — made to your specifications (name, pronouns, dedication, etc.) — are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal and cannot be returned or exchanged once the order has entered production. 6.2 Damaged or defective product. If your book arrives damaged, has a manufacturing defect or does not match your order, we will reprint or refund it free of charge. Please write to contact@petuniachatterton.com within 14 days of delivery, including a photo of the defect. 6.3 No return shipment required. No physical return of the product is required: where a defect is confirmed, the reprint or refund is issued simply on the basis of the photo. 6.4 Refunds. Refunds are made to the original payment method and generally arrive within 5 to 10 business days.
7. Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. missed gift dates) where delivery is delayed by our carrier.
8. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be heard by the French courts with jurisdiction at the seller's registered office, except where consumer law gives you the right to a different court.
